Gijs F. J. van Thiel

Gijs co-founded 747 Capital and manages the company's day-to-day operations. He is responsible for the development of new products co-manages the firms fund of funds. Gijs is actively involved in the 747 Capital manager selection process and has been making commitments to US private equity funds since 1997.

Prior to forming 747 Capital, Gijs was founder and General Partner of Triad Media Ventures, a $50MM venture capital fund. Prior, Gijs was Director of Financial Services for Icon International, Inc. a specialty finance company located in New York. Gijs started his US career as Assistant Area Director for the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency, a diplomatic function, for the Dutch government in New York in 1993.

Gijs holds M.B.A. in international management from Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management (Glendale, AZ, USA) and a Bachelors in Management and Human Resources from Webster University (Leiden, The Netherlands). Before arriving in the US in 1992, Gijs lived, studied and worked in several European cities. Gijs speaks Dutch, English, French and German.
